Album Review: 20 Greenlea Road a solo album from Les Keye
An emotive exploration of family history through the lens of memory, The Wilde Oscars frontman revives the power of the oral tradition in this masterclass on contemporary folk.
There are few inducted into the storied past of Dublin as well as the cult-treasure The Wilde Oscars. Led into the blaze of the nineties indie-folk scene by frontman Leslie (Les) Keye — a pioneer of the emotionally arresting Irishman phenomenon, the band left a trail of devotees in its path around the Dublin gigging circuit. A graduate of the ‘‘Grafton Street Buskers’’ along with the likes of Glen Hansard, Mark Dignam......
Anita Cane Violins is steadily carving her path as one of Italy’s most exciting and genre-defying singer-songwriters. Emerging from Como, a picturesque city nestled at the foot of the Alps, Anita’s music reflects her rich cultural heritage and bold approach to blending genres. Her latest single, "Raise Your Vibe", released in collaboration with producer Paolo De Santis (Desanudo) and rapper Roger aka Erre, marks a new chapter in her sonic evolution—a lush fusion of neo-soul, laid-back electronica, and a dash of 90s nostalgia that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Since the release of her debut single, "Sere d’estate", in 2020, Anita has demonstrated an......
The HeARTist - Galvo
The path of an artist is not always clear-cut. From the flats of Ballymun to the Seven Kingdoms, from Pakistani hip-hop to indie-folk, the journey of North Dublin-based artist, Galvo, has been an unorthodox odyssey of self-discovery. His debut solo album The HeARTist may send you fumbling in the throes of a welcome hyperesthesia, but when the final bells of a ‘‘The Sun has Lost a Son’’ chime out, you’ll be left with a sense of awe and wonder.
Heralded by Hotpress as ‘‘one of the most accomplished and exciting debuts that has passed through HP Towers this year’’ Sep 26th marks a renaissance of raw indie......
The Edges – Naimee Coleman - Review
From the next big thing in Irish pop to seasoned songwriter, Naimee Coleman returns to the Irish music scene on her own terms.
Somewhere rooted in the underbelly of your subconscious is the catchy hook of Aurora’s ethereal spin on Duran Duran’s classic hit "Ordinary World." It’s a track that captured the essence of the time when the Celtic Tiger flourished, The Corrs were dubbed the future of Irish pop, and dance was king. What Elizabeth Frazer was to Massive Attack’s "Teardrop," Naimee Coleman was to Aurora’s "Ordinary World" — it’s body and soul.
An impressive start; she was signed to the......

For Oscar Wilkins, music isn’t just a form of expression—it’s a craft that thrives on passion and intensity. With a sound rooted in R&B but amplified by rock & pop elements, the Dublin-based artist is carving out a unique space in the music world. “I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel,” he explains. “I just want to put my own spin on it, to create something people can connect with.”

The New Leaves, like so many contemporary music projects, emerged from the post pandemic wilderness. Consisting of four childhood friends from County Down in Northern Ireland, the band blend lush, three-part harmonies, nature inspired lyrics and modern folk aesthetics to brand them as a new, unique force in the genre. The four members came together to breathe life into an expanding songbook written by McKay, who attempts to capture the natural beauty, history, and mythology of homelife beneath the Mourne Mountains and the beautiful townlands that surround Carlingford Lough.
The New Leaves are:
Decky McKay – Vocals, Guitar.
